- Can you do it over a Sunday and Monday?
- Usually. Most salon repaints fit a two-day closed window if the colour choice is settled before we start and the furniture can be pulled clear.
- Will strong colours cover in one coat?
- No. Deep reds, teals and blacks need a tinted base and at least two topcoats to look solid. Anyone promising one coat is planning to leave it patchy.
- What about the smell for clients on Tuesday?
- Water-based systems in a ventilated space are effectively odour-free by the next morning.
The backwash and colour bar
Tint, bleach and peroxide are unforgiving. Walls behind the colour bar and around the backwash need a finish that can be wiped without pulling the sheen off, and darker feature colours there will show every mark if the wrong product is used.

- Mirrors, sockets and shelving masked rather than removed where possible
- Deep and strong colours built up in enough coats to sit flat
Small space, high detail
A salon is mostly edges: mirror surrounds, service ducts, shelving, panelled bulkheads and feature walls. That detail is what takes the time, and it is why an area-based price rarely reflects the job.
